Dee surprised me by making reservations at The Guest House Log Cabins. We stayed in the most adorable and luxurious log cabin next to a large pond, complete with gourmet breakfast waiting for us in our dining room and a jacuzzi tub that I almost overfilled with bubbles during my two hour bath.
On our porch there was a large bin filled with what appeared to be dog food, yet was labeled "duck food." Not sure if it was intended to be used up all at once, but I took the liberty to feed the whole thing to some very friendly ducks.

Whidbey Island
With baby number two on the way, Dee and I have been considering a move outside of the Seattle area, where houses are significantly larger and more affordable. After talking with several other firefighters who live on Whidbey Island and raved about "island life" Dee and I decided to check it out. We dropped Magnus off at his grandma Ami's house (the second time we've spent a night away from him in 19 months) and headed to the ferry terminal. Ultimately, we decided that it was a little too mellow for us, however, we certainly enjoyed the sights and sleeping it past 6 a.m.!
7 months!
