First teeth!
On the way home from our Christmas in Portland Magnus was laughing in his car seat when I discovered two teeth popping through his gumline. Dee and I were both a bit startled as we had expected this initial teething stage to be intolerable by babies and parents alike. So far Magnus has taken to this new milestone with relative ease. Here's a few snapshots of his pearly whites!

Christmas in Portland
Finally the snow from "winter freeze 2008" had melted away and we headed south to celebrate Christmas with the Portland fam. Aunty Shannon flew up from California, and for a few days we delighted in each other's company. "Christmas morning" brought many wonderful goodies for everyone, and once again Magnus discovered a liking for wrapping paper. Ya-Ya and Grandpa Lou threw a lovely holiday party where we were able to introduce Magnus to some of his extended family before he called it a night.

Seven months
It seems as though we've entered a new realm of parenting now that Magnus has hit the big seven months. He's gotten very busy lately, offering us a glimpse into what is to come with a toddler. Aside from taking to solid foods like a complete champ, he has perfected sitting, is toying with the idea of crawling in the near future as he army crawls and rolls all over the place, and engages in play with the toys that we give him. He is developing quite a sense of humor and often laughs almost uncontrollable at the most random of things. He LOVES to ride on Dee's shoulders, take showers, be tossed up in the air and pretend to be dropped (is that mean?) Anything he can grab goes straight to his mouth and there appears to be a tooth developing underneath his gummy smile. His curiosity is larger than life, and he continues to love jumping in his jumperoo, and/or simulate it in your lap.

This is as far as I got having him hold his "sign" this time around.
Apparently that paper is quite tasty!

Time to babyproof the house
Magnus has been practicing his precrawl technique, swaying back and forth and getting ready for mobility. So far he has perfected creeping backwards, sometimes running into an obstacle or two (finding oneself underneath the television cabinet for example.) Here he is showing off his newfound skills: (press the arrow mom)

Wii with Dee
Who says there's no time to exercise when you have kids? This is how Dee maintains his physique on those days off with Magnus...

More fun with food
Magnus continues to enjoy his "first foods" as long as they are vegetables and/or oatmeal cereal. It's almost shocking how much peas, green beans, broccoli, squash or sweet potato he can eat!
